Hi. I'm Lauren Naylor, a filmmaker and a mom. After graduating from UT, I worked in New York City for 13 years in TV & film and advertising. It was there I met my husband and had two kids, Henry & Kate, who are 11 months apart (crazy, I know... lol).  Five years ago, we decided to move our family cross-country from Old Greenwich, CT to a little town outside Austin, called Dripping Springs. I am insanely happy to be back home and living in the Texas hill country.

The idea for First Frames came to me one day as I was looking at all the :20 second videos I had taken of the kids on my iPhone. I loved watching these short video snippets on my phone, but something was missing. I realized I wasn't in any of these videos, and neither was my husband. What I really wanted was a way capture this crazy insane chapter in life, but also to really do it justice.

I wanted something I could watch when I wanted to remember Saturday mornings in bed with the family or making the kid's favorite breakfast while they played at my feet on the kitchen floor. I wanted a way to preserve the little things, like favorite toys & lovies, the sound of belly laughs in the morning, and tiny mud-caked shoes sitting by the back door. Sometimes, I climb into bed at night exhausted and emotionally spent and hope that I'm not too tired to remember the day — every real, raw, precious moment of it. That's how First Frames was born, as a way to capture this messy, exhausting, perfect stage of life.
